In 2009, Ryo Okuda moved to Los Angeles from Japan at the age of 29. He worked as a mechanic for TOYOTA for 8 years after becoming a certified Toyota Master Mechanic from TOYOTA Technical Institute, which is known for their highest-level of education in automotive engineering field.
In 2018, he obtained the highest ranked certification, ASE Master Mechanic certification.
His superior skills, extraordinary experience, helped him to build trust, honesty and great relationships with his clients with everyone based on he has worked with.
He has multiple customers come in just for a regular inspection all the way from locations like Las Vegas, San Clemente etc…

Eco Drive has been in business since 2012, focusing mainly on hybrid Toyota vehicles, including Lexus lines. Vehicle owners are able to consult directly with our mechanics, unlike many other dealerships where owners are only able to speak with sales representatives. Because this system eliminates the middle person, the vehicle owners can gain a better understanding of the detailed inspection results. We strongly believe in building trust-based business relationships with our customers, since this is better for our customers and the longevity of their vehicles.

MEET OUR TEAM
Kazuhiro Iida AKA Kaz, (Branch Manager)
Kaz joined Eco Drive in 2014. He has been working in the car business industry for over 20 years with high experience in sales, vehicle reconditioning and repairs. He also graduated from Toyota College in Japan. He's been in the U.S. since 2008 with full experienced working at various repairs and sales operations from over the past years. He also was a dealership sales manager before joining Eco Drive.
Atsushi Suzuki AKA Tony, (CEO Founder)
In 2004, Tony moved from Japan to the U.S. at the age of 24.
He discovers a great deal of unfairness and deception in the industry while he worked in various automotive fields, such as used car dealership and auto repair shops.
In 2012, he founded his own company, Eco Drive, with the goal of offering services and prices that are more transparent, anti-consumer trends in the industry.
He always follows his company's motto, “Car Care, Quality and Fair,” as he serves the community everyday.
OUR AUTO SERVICE SPECIALITIES
30K, 60K, 90K and 120K SERVICE
This is your major service intervals. Typically, we do the above mentioned services in the oil change and flush all your fluids including your coolant, the transmission fluid, and also drain and fill the differential. It is also at this time we rotate your tires, check your shocks and brakes, and if needed, with your approval, replace your air filter, cabin filter, and spark plugs.
OIL CHANGE / LUBE SERVICE
There are plenty of places that will change your oil, but We not only change your oil, we check all fluid levels, check your brakes, your tire wear, your tire pressure, the axle boots, check for leaks underneath, the condition of the shocks, your lights, reset your maintenance light, etc. Service. It’s what you expect. It’s what we deliver.
BRAKE REPAIR & SERVICE
Brake repair specialists at our shop understand how important it is to keep the drivers in Los Angeles safe by maintaining the braking system of your vehicle. After a certain number of miles, the brakes will wear down. Our certified mechanic will inspect the brake lines for leaks while also observing the condition of the brake discs or drums. We can develop a plan for brake repair work that meets your needs. There can be many different signs indicating that your vehicle requires brake repair work. Get the brake repair work done immediately to prevent your car from becoming a road hazard.
TUNE-UPS
The engine tune-ups are part of a complete preventative maintenance program. The vehicle should be brought into the shop for tune-ups periodically. During these tune-ups, we change the spark plugs or clean them after a certain number of miles. For older models, tune-ups might include checking the distributor cap and rotor. These vehicles might still require tune-ups from a mechanic with knowledge of carburetor systems, for example.
12-VOLT AUXILIARY BATTERY
We sell AGM 12V auxiliary battery replacements. If it’s been a while since your 12V battery has been replaced you may want to consider doing so. Hybrid vehicles require a strong 12V source at all times. An even slightly compromised 12V battery can cause a host of mystery faults on your vehicle.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT
The check engine light is a critical part of your engine’s early warning system. Never ignore the check engine light when it turns on because the check engine light usually indicates that a serious problem exists. It’s important to find out why the check engine light is turning on. For example, the engine could be misfiring, and this issue makes the check engine light become active. However, a faulty gas cap can also trigger the check engine light sensor. Our service team can find out the real reason why your check engine light is becoming activated.
HYBRID BATTERY / HYBRID SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT
By far, the quickest, most reliable and longest lasting option when you start showing signs of the hybrid battery failing is to replace it with a Toyota’s brand-new unit. From our experience, we don’t trust rebuilt batteries and aftermarket batteries anymore. We only trust manufacture batteries. Eco Drive offers brand new manufacture batteries with cheaper price with longer warranty term than manufacture’s offer.
COMPLETE HYBRID SYSTEM CLEANING
We offer complete hybrid battery system cleanings. Battery vents, filters, and fans should be cleaned regularly to keep your battery performing at an optimal level and to avoid battery over-heating.
COMBO METER / DASHBOARD CLUST
We offer combo meter and dashboard cluster repairs at specified service centers for a fraction of the price dealerships charge.
